Donna Ball came here 32 years ago and fell in love with Wales and its people. Situated in the world famous Afan Valley, depot rd is a Mecca for Mountain biking enthusiasts. Afan Argoed has and is undergoing a multi million pound upgrade, with new trails designed and built by Cognation’s Rowan Sorrell, these are proving incredibly popular for all levels and ages.

  • Perfect venue for our gathering

    Stayed here for 2 nights in september wiht a group of ladies in their forties and early fifties. Loved everything about it - funky, clean , comfortable, spacious and secure. All my dealings with the owner were easy repayment, set up etc. folks who have stayed before leave a few bits and bobs and so did we, everything else is provided, linens, towels, blankets etc etc. Loved it and we will be back i hope

  • Just as good second year round

    This was a return visit and I pleased to say it was just as good as the first time. High standards on cleanliness, great communication, flexible and very friendly. Perfect location for 9 guys to enjoy mountain biking for 3 days. It was only 30 mins drive to Bike Park Park Wales for one day with the other two spent on Afan which is a 5 min cycle away. Don't forget to check out the cycle shop next door, the gent that runs this is really friendly, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The house its self is great, very well thought through. If you are prepared to cook there is every thing you will need and its not cheap Ikea stuff!! Herbs and spices galore and don't forget the fully stocked beer fridge!! This place works works on a lot of trust, so if you are planning on booking please abide by the rules and play fairly otherwise it will spoil a great venue and we will be going back. Great for groups of men or women mountain biking or even 2 or 3 families, meets everyone's needs. Keep up the good work

  • Perfect for a large group. Great attention to detail.

    Group of 9 (older than we like to admit) lads stayed for 2 nights to tackle the 'Fan Dance' endurance event. Without exception everyone was very impressed by the accommodation which was perfectly suited to our needs. Very clean, very well equipped and the huge open plan living area was perfect for our pre and post event socialising. Thanks for a great stay I suspect we might be back.

  • High quality, secure and modern living space

    A group of 13 of us travelled from ireland to spend a few days in Wales. We had 3 adults and 10 young people. This accommodation was perfect for our needs and the location was situated excellently a short drive by the M4 but also far enough to feel like your not in a busy city were the young people can walk off. The house was clean and modern, very comfortable and had brilliant little extras thrown in. Beer and cokes in the fridge, board games and free wifi and the drying room was very useful for beach and hiking trips. The local surrounding area is amazing (we recommend the baked bean museum in port talbot if your up for a laugh) but the accommodation hosts make many suggestions to help with trip planning and were very quick to answer any questions we had via email and they provide several phone numbers too. We would definitely come back again to use this great place! Tesco is very close by and there is ample storage space for food and drinks plus the kitchen is great for cooking meals. BBQ provided out back - unfortunately the weather didn't permit us to use it this time but it's a welcome extra. Depot rd helped make our stay in Wales a lot more comfortable, simple and relaxed.   • Fantastic house

    This house is fantastic! We went as a family holiday with 6 adults and 3 children and it was perfect for what we needed. Lovely living/dining/kitchen area, plenty of space and great comfy sofas! Kitchen area is perfect and was well equipped with everything we needed. Bedrooms and bathrooms all a good size. We did lots of exploring and the house was a perfect base for this.
